Fifth Third Bank auto loan payment? I sent in in an auto loan paymen to fifth third bank aprox a week or so before it was due (i sent it on a friday) and it was due on dec. 30th. It still shows it hasnt been taken out of my bank account. Is it because of the holiday you think? i just dont want them to tell me to send another payment and then they "magicallyapply 2 payments to the account." Anyone have similar problems with this?

Aja replied: "The payment could be in a pending status and just not posted yet. Contact your bank to confirm that the payment has not been taken out of your account FIRST. Then contact Fifth Third Bank to see if the payment is in a pending status and just not posted as of yet. Don't ever send another payment in unless you plan on issuing a stop payment on the first payment that you sent."

Corina P replied: "It should really save you a lot of running around to just get an auto loan price online to verify what the going rates are. You might be pleasantly suprised. Also if your credit is not so great, a lot of online loaners are more willing to work with people. What I most often tell friends is that an online quote at is what I would do."

Fifth Third Bank Online Auto Loan Payment? Is there a way to make payments online with fifth third bank? I cant seem to find anywhere on their site to allow me to do this.

lilpuppy6 replied: "here are some answers fomr th ebanks webite. Q. How can I add payees for bill payment? A. Log in to the Fifth Third Internet Banking and Bill Payment system and select the Make Payments tab, and then click on Manage Payees and then Add Payee. You can choose payees from a list of common payees that have been included for your area, such as the local utility, phone and water companies. (If you are a current user of Fifth Third Bill Payment, your existing payees will be listed.) Or you can add your personal payees (friends, relatives, one-time bills), for one-time or repeating payments. For details, please visit our Internet Banking Help. Q. How can I edit or delete a payee? A. Log in to the Fifth Third Internet Banking and Bill Payment system and select the Make Payments tab, and then click on Manage Payees. To edit or delete your personal payees, click on a payee name or the Edit or Delete icon. Changes you make to existing payees will immediately affect pending and future payments to that payee. For details, please visit our Internet Banking Help. Q. How can I cancel or modify a scheduled bill payment? A. Log in to the Fifth Third Internet Banking and Bill Payment system and select the Make Payments tab. You can edit or delete a pending payment at any time while the edit or delete buttons are visible for the pending payment. If you accidentally hit the Delete button, you will still have a chance to cancel the action before the payment is deleted. After you have canceled a payment, you can reschedule a payment for that payee. For details, please visit our Internet Banking Help. Q. Why is there a one dollar transaction on my account? A. Some merchants will pre-authorize a debit or credit card to ensure that it is a valid and active account, essentially placing a $1 hold on your account. The pre-authorization amount will remain until the merchant submits the actual amount of the transaction for payment and it posts to your account. Once the payment posts, the $1 pre-authorization will come off your account. This process typically takes 2-3 business days. good luck! here's the link on their site:!?PC_7_0_21M_spf_strutsAction=!2ffaq.do#q13"

DLM replied: "I am sorry to hear you are also a Fifth Third victim, I mean customer. You can originate a payment from your own checking account via the automated clearing house (ACH), from the online capability of presumably your checking account. But it will probably reject and they will not be able to post it anywhere (been there done that!!!). Best bet - contact a local branch directly and force them (yes force will be necessary) to explain the preferred method."

If I get a general loanfrom Fifth Third Bank, do I have to have full coverage auto insurance? I'm looking to buy a 1998 Grand Prix GT for $2700 and looking to take out a loan to do it. I'm not getting an auto loan, but instead a general loan. I was wondering if anyone knows if I'll need to have full coverage insurance on the car while I'm repaying the loan? Thanks.

steph replied: "Its up to the bank. My guess is that since the amount owed is so low - no - but that doesn't mean they can't require it."

Eliza replied: "If you are using the car as collateral you will have to have full coverage. If you are just taking out an unsecured personal loan then you won't need full coverage. Think about what will happen if the car is totaled will you be able to make the loan payments and afford to purchase new transportation? You might want to but full coverage even if they don't require it while you still have the loan."

Can I pay my auto loan payment at a local branch? I have fifth third bank for my auto loan. Instead of mailing the payment can i make a payment at any local branch?

Pyar replied: "go to your local branch and ask them .. that's how i pay my auto loan."

Laura replied: "You'll have to contact the bank and ask them that question."

bigcdaddy280 replied: "Hun, you need to ask THEM. Not Yahoo. Look them up online, I'm sure they'll have an 800 number to call and ask. I hate to be Mr.Obvious, but it's the best answer I could think of."

Amanda replied: "Most banks that finance auto loans will accept payments in person, its one of their services they provide to get you in the door to offer you other products and services, like savings and checking accounts or CD's. The next time you drive by a Fifth Third branch, stop and ask. They'll probably say yes."

Fifth Third Bank - Unsolicited credit card? I received a credit card from fifth third bank, without ever applying for one. Last week, my wife went to their local branch and applied for auto loan (and put me as a cosigner). I'm guessing the same branch manager processed my card. But there was no talk about credit card whatsoever. Could the bank manager apply for a credit card for me, without my or my wife's consent or even telling us about it??? Is this a case of identity theft? I would appreciate your advise on what to do. Thanks!

bdancer222 replied: "If the bank accepted you wife adding you as a co-signer without you physically being there to actually sign, then I'd say it's pretty likely that same bank employee signed you up for that credit card. Banks sometimes have contests involving opening new credit card accounts. It is actually rather common to find a credit card account opened up along with the other transaction. It's not ID theft; it's miscommunication. If you don't want the account, just send a letter to the bank telling them that you did not apply and do not want the account. Request written confirmation that the account is closed and 0 balance."

Am I eligible for an auto loan? I am in desperate need of a car. I am 18 years old, I currently work at McDonald's (it's the only place close enough to walk) and make $7.15 an hour, roughly $200.00 a week. I've been working since late October and I would like a car so that I can attend college and find a better job. I was going to save up and settle for a cheap $1,000-$2,000 car until I could afford a down payment for a brand new car but instead I've decided to get a nice used car and try to apply for an auto loan from my bank (fifth-third). But, I have a feeling my situation will keep from getting the loan. =( So, my question is, does anyone think/know if I am eligible for a loan, if not, does anyone have any ideas? Thanks. P.S. don't tell me to ask my bank, I will tomorrow =)

dave49310 replied: "Financial common sense, a cd by Bob McEwan, he talks about one of the worst investments you can make, buying a brand new car that depreciates before you even have it off the lot to where you couldn't sell it and make your money back, no matter what you do to it. I'd personally just find a used minivan/four door or whatever being sold by an old lady that drove it like a grandma, cheap on insurance too. around a the year 2000 or so. you should be able to find one around 4G or so., it's fine if it has 100000 miles on it, they go for a good 250000 miles +. I beg you to find another financial institution, fifth third (I know I'm not supposto bash on here, but) rapes you on their fees. Yes people will give you money for anything, if you sign your life away, a co-signer helps too. that's not the problem, just make sure you can afford the payments if you decide to go that way and that there is some kind of unemployment stipulation to where if you loose your job your credit doesn't go down the crapper. P.S. Please don't ask your bank, find a credit union or anything."

derdaca replied: "you may need a co-signer, you need a credit rating to get credit, best way is a co-signer and always pay on time"

Zachary F replied: "how is your credit? If your credit score is good you might be able to get a loan. Also do you have anyone who could cosign for the loan. This would help a lot but iff you dont and your credit is bad then your pretty much outta luck and you should go with your fist plan"

fire4511 replied: "In your situation, you can not handle much more than a $200 a month payment. You also have to allow for insurance and gas! You were on the right track in thinking of saving your money and buying an older car for transportation! Good luck!"

UCANTCME replied: "ONLY WITH A CO-SIGNER."

C R replied: "Whats your credit score?? how much can you afford to put down as a down payment? how much can you afford to pay each month?? What type of car are you wanting?? Have you check on the cost of insurance?? My BF got a good car from "why pay sicker price" she got an awesome deal on a great car... ______________________________ Sorry I don't have an answer to your question just wanted to give you some info."

sofisintown replied: "Save a couple of thousand first, and get a used car. Your insurance will be high because you are young. Get a used car for starters, and take your mom or dad with you when you go to the dealer."
